About
eWES creates educational tools for kids to foster waste sorting and recycling. It provides digital and physical components (mobile game, comic book) and mixes traditional learning and gamification techniques. With a mobile game having received a UNESCO patronage for Africa and soon a comic and an eLearning solution, eWES aims at shaping the mind of the younger generation.
The mobile game is available to children via their school provided tablets and is used as a tool by teachers in all the primary schools of Mauritius.
They learn the History and Geography of the area, city or country through the different levels and sort the collected waste in recycling bins to earn points and complete the levels. They also meet the endemic animals of each place, helping them in the cleaning of their natural habitat and fight the pest.
Started at the end of September 2019, Eco-Warriors™ is currently being deployed in the Mascarene Islands Region namely Rodrigues, Mauritius and Reunion Island.
Vision & Mission
Vision:Being the first-ever educational mobile game under the UNESCO Patronage in Africa, Eco-warriors™'s vision is to reduce CO2 emissions across Mauritius in the coming years. By collecting household recycling material, we'll offer data and insights to corporations on CO2 emissions in specific areas so that they can curb the significant increase in CO2 emissions.
Mission:Launched in 2019, Eco-warriors™'s mission is to raise environmental awareness among children in Mauritius. The aim is to introduce kids to the actions related to waste sorting, recycling and some notions in geography through gamification.
